Ch. 10 Summary

Okay, so, we finally met THE GIVER.

Was it what you had expected?!

In this chapter, we found The Giver's office, which is in the annex. The weird part was, all of the doors to his office were always locked. This was very unusual in Jonas' community. Then he met The Giver. Who looked very old and very tired, but he was actually much younger than he appeared. He tried to explain to Jonas what his job as The Receiver would consist of; receiving memories. Jonas thought he meant just talking about the memories of The Giver's childhood. But he was wrong, he will be receiving ALL of the memories of THE WORLD. We haven't found out what the experience is like yet... but we know the first memory will be experiencing snow. Before The Giver began preparing Jonas to receive the memory though, he turned the loud speaker in the room off, which frightened Jonas because he was unaware you could do that. In fact, his speaker in his family dwelling didn't even have a power switch on it. We left off with Jonas laying on the couch with his shirt off, waiting for The Giver to share his memory...

What do you think Jonas will experience with snow? How will this transmission of memories will occur? How will Jonas react?

We'll find out tomorrow, won't we?
